Price of Peace
Bed and Breakfast
Luxury bed and breakfast consisting of old fishing lodge standing on the banks of the River Torridge. Large veranda and gardens.
Price of Peace stands 40 yards from the bank of the river Torridge in beautiful and secluded surroundings, this view is taken from our garden.
Nestling in the valley one mile from Hatherleigh on the A386 road to Torrington, the Lodge is screened by Pines through which the approach drive runs.
Built by Lord Marchamley in 1930 especially as a fishing lodge, the single storey structure with its interior decor of Oregan Pine makes an instant appeal.
Located just a few hundred yards from the location of the BBC program Bill Oddie's ‘Britain Goes Wild.’ The lodge has been lovingly restored to its former purpose to offer Bed and Breakfast accommodation with one twin room, one double and one twin/super king, all with TV and en-suite facilities, large residents lounge and separate dining room.
Breakfast can also be taken on the veranda in the summer months where you can really appreciate the tranquillity of this wonderful location.
We also run a courtesy car service into Hatherleigh for guests who would like a relaxing evening without the worry of driving - also for cyclists.
We also have a Scandinavian Log Cabin (self-catering)...more info here.
